Have you been wondering what you could do to help get out the vote to pass Issue 1? Now is your chance to help make a difference, the last Saturday before the election.

There is going to be a canvassing event on Saturday starting at 10 o’clock until 1 o’clock. Annelle Edwards and Susan Blauvelt are asking all interested people to come to Marietta College Hermann Fine Arts Center at 500 Butler Street, Marietta (map). They will give you a curated list of Democrats and Independents to call on, who have not yet voted.

The technology for canvassing is easy! Just download the canvassing app called MiniVAN Touch (for iPhones) or MiniVAN by ngp (for Androids) before coming on Saturday morning. On the app, you will need to make a personal login (Action ID). After logging in, it will ask for a list number which Annelle and Susan will provide Saturday morning. After entering the list number, the app can tell you where the closest address is, and show you the names and addresses of all the people within several blocks that you will contact. Two or three people can partner to canvas together.

The script will show after a list number is entered. The basics of the script are asking for the person at that address, a friendly self introduction, bringing up the election and issue one. The two main questions: 1) Can we count on you to vote yes on the constitutional amendment to protect Ohio and reproductive rights? And 2) How will you cast your ballot in the November 7 election?

There is a piece of literature to hand out, supplied by the League of Women Voters.

If you can spend a couple of hours helping on Saturday morning, it would be greatly appreciated. People need a reminder about voting for reproductive freedom, in this very important election.
